The City of Sebastopol, the County of Sonoma, and the California State Senate recognized October 9, 1999 as Mark A. Petchey’s Traffic Accident Victim Awareness Day. Government agencies, community organizations, and schools and youth groups came together to educate citizens regarding road use, traffic safety, emergency services, and the plight of victims of serious traffic accidents.
